Rev. Dr. Beth Brown
CRS announces Rev. Dr. Beth Brown, Pastor at Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church, as the keynote address speaker for our virtual 2023 Annual Membership Assembly (AMA) on November 9 at 6:30 PM CT. Read her bio below.
Rev. Dr. Beth Brown has been the pastor of Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church for the past 10 years and is now in her 32nd year of ordained ministry. Since August 2022, Rev. Dr. Beth Brown has been an Interim Commissioner on the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability. It’s because of a request from the Police Accountability team of CRS that she apply that Rev. Dr. Beth Brown became a commissioner. Rev. Dr. Beth Brown uses she/her pronouns and, for as long as she can remember, has been a fierce advocate for those on the margins. She is married to Jeanette and they have two adult children and 2 cats. In their spare time, which is rare these days, they love to cycle, hike, kayak, travel, forest bathe and stroll through the Montrose Bird Sanctuary. She stands on the shoulders of one of her dearest friends and mentors, the Rev. Dr. Jane Adams Spahr. From Janie, Rev. Dr. Beth Brown learned early on about how to do justice at the intersections. One of her greatest joys has been causing good trouble with amazing faith leaders all over Chicago.
We are eager to reflect on our work together with member congregations, coalition partners and community members in building Beloved Community. This will be a powerful celebration of welcome and advocacy! This year’s AMA will encompass prayer, updates on our Platform for Renewal and calls to action. Learn more and register to join us!
