Juneteenth Village Fest 2024
In sorrowful memory of Dexter Reed, a soul taken far too soon by police brutality during a traffic stop, CRS canvassed at the June 15 Juneteenth Village Fest hosted by It Takes A Village Family of Schools.
We rang in Freedom Day early and boosted backing for the Free2Move (F2M) Coalition’s petition to prohibit pretextual stops. As a steering committee partner of the F2M Coalition, our goal is to prevent unnecessary altercations between civilians and law enforcement that result in the loss of life, such as the shooting of Dexter Reed, 26, where undercover Chicago Police Department officers fired 96 rounds at the driver. We received 25+ petition signatures.
